Hi, thank you for visiting my site.
I am known for playing the recurring Celebrant (Corrie's 'other vicar'- Coronation Street Blog) on CORONATION STREET. Here are the links to my latest episodes: https://youtu.be/PEFNfSTX6CY (part one) https://youtu.be/rVQvV5K357o (part two). It is always wonderful to be back working with lovely friends and colleagues.
*Tongue and Groove* Before Covid 19 struck, I went out as Young Barbara in Cold Feet on ITV. Currently, like everyone else, I am in lock-down, but I have been busy bringing the virtual version of the variety open mic night, Tongue and Groove, which I host monthly, to your screens. It will go out on the third Tuesday of the month at 8pm on my Youtube page: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM3f3zhFaxw I have an array of talented acts performing for you.
I am also honoured to have been the first actor to play Ellen Wilkinson on the professional stage - playing the Mancunian firebrand for the Peterloo Festival. It was so wonderful to bring this amazing lady back to life. ''What an amazing performance from the incredibly talented Hayley Cartwright in what was essentially a one woman show. The delivery of the opening monologue was flawless, and you knew from the first words that were spoken that she had gone above and beyond to bring Ellen to life and do justice to this little known inspirational ‘fiery particle’ of political history.... the 5’ 2'' Red Ellen succeeded in captivating the room and was mesmerising for the entire fabulous production. Loved it. '' Audience member.
At the end of last year, I returned to the role of Lisa in the comedy, Up the Bunting, in a bid to help bring quality fringe theatre to Stockport.'Cartwright's powerful but never OTT performance and comedic skill balanced nicely against Donald's more introvert awkwardness'. Matthew Dougall, Manchester Salon, 4 stars! 'Wonderful acting from Cartwright', Sam Lowe, Reviewer Number Nine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=qgzys9lWoX0&app=desktop#dialog
I also host monthly variety open mic nights, Tongue and Groove, in Central Manchester. They are on the third Thursday of the month, and doors open at 7pm. Free entry. Please get in touch if you would like a slot to perform (any type of performance) and or would like to come along. (Currently virtual due to the pandemic..see further up the page)
On top of this, I present the show, Chorlton Calling- supporting small local businesses during lockdown. to view our films, please visit here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c079oz-tFdM
I am a segment presenter for You Tube channel, Your MCR. Usually from On the Box corner in the studio, but I also enjoy roaming reporting. Here is one of the recent episodes ''Yoko Ono, Bells for Peace'': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUKg4ayPb1k
I hope you are all ok out there. Stay safe! x
